Every person in every walk of life desires to have control. People want to have control over situations in every area of life, even when that means choosing to give control to someone else. But, what we must remember is that the only person you can control is you. In an environment where people must work together to get to a common goal, it is imperative that each person gain control of their self then learning to work with others will be more effective. As a leader, it is important to first get control for yourself and then know how to allow others to have control. People who have control will be able to put their controlled energy in a direction that will help the whole be more productive.
