I have had the pleasure of being a subordinate at a school where Dr. Webb served as the principal. During our tenure, I watched her open a brand-new school with teachers from various backgrounds and teaching experience, many of them being brand new to education. There were many hurdles that we all needed to overcome, so it was imperative that we had the right person in place. She had a vision, but she insisted on having input from the staff so that the process could be as manageable as possible. This helped in building relationships with grade level teams and a level of comfort as the teachers built trust among each other as well as with Dr. Webb. She implemented different programs throughout the school year that improved morale and the overall climate. This was important with the constant battles that we faced as a school.
Overall, in my 5 years of working with Dr. Webb, I have seen her be a counselor, motivator, a listening ear, but importantly a strong leader! Anyone who is going to work with or for Dr. Webb will certainly be in good hands!

It is with great pleasure that I write this testimonial for Dr. Renita Webb. I have known Renita since she was an undergraduate at Elon University. She was a student who was a progressive force on a campus that needed a person with her tenacity. She led several organizations during her time as a student and was an active member of others. I remember her energy and enthusiasm throughout those 4 years.Working with her as a professional she cultivated colleagues in much the same way as when she was a student. Renita is still a progressive force in education and her community. I am amazed by all she gives professionally. She is creative and funny which is icing on the cake as a professional.
Dr. Renita Webb is an amazing woman! Not only is she a nurturing mother and supportive wife, but she is also an excellent educator and outstanding administrator. She has the ability to envision the grand scheme and simultaneously focus on the minor details. Where others tend to fixate on specific classroom concerns and others only consider the bureaucracy of the larger education system. Dr. Webb has the ability to serve the teachers, parents, children, and government officials in a way that is understanding and productive. My name is John McLean I worked at Kestrel Heights Elementary with Dr. Renita Webb. One of the many highlights of my work experience under her leadership were the Team Missions she had us participate in. These missions were great ways to build camaraderie against the staff. And I personally looked forward to each mission. I worked as an EC One-on-One and this could be viewed as a secondary position within the school setting. But participation in these missions fostered a more egalitarian essence amongst the staff, especially when all were competing for the same goal. This allowed me to come out of my shell and feel like I had a voice allowing me to get to know my coworkers on a more personal level. These missions pushed us to work together and really made us come to together as a team. I am extremely grateful for the time I sent engaged in them and look forward to implementing activities like this in any capacity of leadership I may serve in.
Our team missions that were assigned each month were creatively designed to build relationships with coworkers that we otherwise wouldn’t know, see often or talk to throughout the building. Not only did it build new friendships as we learned about each other outside of the day to day routines, but it created new professional connections as we learned people’s strengths. Most importantly it built a family among us. I loved going to work every day. It created an atmosphere of respect and appreciation for each other, embracing diversity and valuing the uniqueness of each person.
Dr. Webb created activities that fostered camaraderie throughout the staff. The team building tasks took us out of our comfort zones and allowed us to see each other as a regular human beings. We adjusted our expectations for one another based on what and how what we were willing to do to fulfill each assignment. I was closer with this staff under her leadership, which resulted in lifelong friendships. Due to her leadership we understood that we were better together than with any other staff before. She is an excellent example of a servant leader whose style encouraged a bond amongst us all.
Most would agree that children thrive when guided by loving, understanding, and supportive adults. Dr. Renita Webb applies the tenets of successful parenting to her leadership style. By providing loving, understanding, and supportive leadership she encourages those working for her to move towards their best professional self. I’ve witness that movement be towards professional goals, promotions, lateral transitions, or total career changes. As a result, her transformational leadership inspires strong loyalty and creates a culture of risk-taking, growth and innovation.
Dr. Webb, an inspirational leader and speaker, is able to seed words of wisdom to help individuals transform their personal goals and invigorate their vision for a successful future. Her annual women’s empowerment conference, as well as business ventures, are a testament to her ability to connect with the human struggle, inspiration, and limitless potential. Based on these experiences, she is able to work across difference, problem-solve, integrate faith-based practices in a pluralist manner, adept at strategic planning, and visionary at program developer.
As a seasoned administrator, she led Kestrel Heights Elementary School with professionalism and grace. As a school leader, her ability to create a community of academic and social success is a hallmark of her leadership style. Her leadership style is one that is warm, humble, and accommodating which provides a sense of comfortability in difficult situations for students, families, and staff. As a school-leader, she is well aware of the synergies needed to be a mature leader with the knowledge, skills, and disposition to truly enhance work with students and their families for educational excellence in the K-12 pipeline. Dr. Webb produces results when working with students, their families, and communities. She is goal driven with a keen understanding of the intersecting nature of family background, socioeconomic status, race, gender, and motivation, and how these factors influence schooling, especially for minoritized communities.
As a teacher, Dr. Webb is a consummate professional who has a genuine love for children and their families. As a classroom teacher, Dr. Webb is a master teacher in terms of her content knowledge and pedagogical skills, as well as building relationships with students. Most importantly, she understands the essential characteristics of being a relational leader who sets high expectations for students in both academic and social realms. As a teacher, she knows how to communicate with several constituencies, build relationships by providing counsel and advice, and have superior knowledge of the curriculum.
Having known Renita for a number of years she immediately came to mind when thinking of powerhouse speakers for our women’s conference last year. When asked Renita jumped at the chance to present and never stopped showing excitement through her constant communication with me. She arrived with a huge smile and ready to spread the word of God to the women. Her knowledge, humor, and passion shined during her presentation and helped allow women to feel open and comfortable. The topic and activity Renita moderated truly helped each woman reflect on who they truly are- the good, bad, and ugly- and where they want to go! Having collected feedback from conference participants, we know that everyone thought Renita was phenomenal and could feel the move of God. We will definitely have her back at future events!
